I’m Katie, a licensed therapist working out of the Santa Cruz Mountains in California. I am a companion to the misfits, oddballs, and anyone seeking in-depth, individualized psychotherapy.
I specialize in working with those who have experienced persistent pain and trauma, unsupported and isolated grief due to its nature (disenfranchised grief), and those managing chronic and incurable conditions. I also work closely with those in transition and at identity crossroads seeking guidance. Essentially: if you want to learn to find a meaning to suffering, I may be a good therapist for you.
I am particularly passionate about supporting those marginalized by society and making therapy a very different experience than the standardized approach.
Finding Purpose in your Pain

My Approach to Therapy
While my primary lens is Existential, I always take a collaborative and integrative approach to therapy. This means I view therapy as a partnership, where we use your individual preferences, and I borrow therapeutic techniques from a variety of modalities to help you meet your goals. You can always decide if you want our session to be problem-solving, emotional support, or anything in between. You don’t need to have any answers: we will figure things out together as they unfold.
My therapy is neurodivergent-affirming, trans-affirming, sex-positive, anti-ableist, anti-racist, and culturally sensitive. I strive to create a safe space where you are encouraged to be your true authentic self.
